And so it happened - the camera lens got stuck:( In the middle of a nice trip to Dorigo National Park the camera broke. Pictures will be added to this story later...
The Gold Coast is where all the big theme parks are situated includeing Movie World, Wet'n'Wild, Seaworld etc. We decided to visit Movie World. It is probably meant for bit younger audience but we had a good time anyway. I was chosen from the audience as a "helper" in a film making exhibit where they showed "blue screen" technology and sound effects etc. I was to play a pilot in Memphis Belle:) To get chosen for this kind of thing must be in the familly. When my brother and sisters were travelling here more than 10 years ago both Ilse and Heine were chosen - what a coincidence! Another good attraction was a just opened Matrix exhibition.
We continued the trip towards Sydney with visit at Dorigo National park. There was a "skywalk" at the information center where you get an amazing view over the vast rainforest located here. We took a few pictures of the view and wen't back to the car. I later wen't for a walk through the forest. It was a very beatiful walk. Through dense forest, over the "mouth" of a waterfall, behind a waterfall in a kind of cave - simply stunning! The only the thing spoiling it was that the camera lens got stuck before i could take the first picture:-(
We stopped in Byron Bay for a little week. My birthday was also held here. It is hard to describe but there is just something about Byron Bay. We had a good time there before continuing down the coast.
We stopped for the night in Port Macqaurie where we found a delicious pancake house. We had both dinner and breakfast there - their pancakes with bananas and loads of chocolate were simply irresistable! At the caravan park we (Janni:)) broke the car key! We spent a few hours trying to find a key cutter that still was open - no luck there. We ended up taping it together and luckily we could gently open the door - phew! An expensive call to the locksmiths was avoided:)
The last stop before Sydney was at Port Stephens. We slepped at a little town at the Pacific Highway. The last day of the trip was spend cruising around Nelsons Bay and the other Port Stpehens bays before heading for Sydney.
The end of en exciting trip is here. We had a very good time and have seen a lot of spectacular parts of Australia.
