We have now had cold weather for nearly a month so we were keen to get to a warmer place. The weather forecast showed that that place was Adelaide. We drove along the Great Ocean Road which among other things features the Twelve Apostles and generally a very scenic coastal drive.

In Adelaide we found a very nice Caravan Park so we stayed there for a few days. The weather was....

When the weather finally cleared we continued from Launceston to The Nut in Stanley (north west). We went for a steep walk to the top.

We continued down the western part of Tasmania to Quenstown. Quenstown is an old mining town. It was sad to see how the mining industry had ruined all the forest and landscape around the town. When you drive towards Quenstown it is through nig....

From Melbourne we caught the ferry to Tasmania. We spent the first few days around Ulverstone. Some small car repairs were due and some sightseeing was done. Tasmazia was close by and were supposed to have the biggest (or best?) pancakes in Australia. Unfortunately we found out that they were not the best... but they were quite big.

Next stop was Hobart where our activities....

At the end of the Bary Way we reached Lakes Entrance on the south coast. We did not stay there for long though it was a nice place. We went to see some Oil rigs at night. They were far out though, so not much could be seen.

Next stop was Philip Island. The island is popular for the Penguin Parade and motor races. No races were on so we went to see the Pinguins. This turned out....

We are on the road again... We started from Bondi tuesday morning and headed towards Thorsten's place. Once we got the car packed we headed south through west sydney. South of Sydney we drove through Royal National Park. We continued south on the Princess Highway until we reached Kiama where we stopped for the night.

In Kiama there is a so-called blowhole where the waves are....

Happy New Year! Date: 02-01-04 15:24

We decided that we would try to get the best view of the fireworks as it apparently is rather special in Sydney. We have heard that it was popular to go to the area around the Harbour Bridge and Opera House. To get a good spot we had to be there early. We started with Snaps and the lot for lunch at 12.00. At around 3.00 we were in the city and found a great spot in a part of the Royal....

We had a traditional danish julefrokost with all the important ingredients. These include Snaps, Sild, Janni's homemade karrysalat, Leverpostej, Rejer, Flaeskesteg with Thorsten's homemade Roedkaal. For desert we had Ris Alamande again.

Before we had lunch we were at Fox Studios to watch the Lord of The Rings movie - a brilliant movie!

Christmas has arrived and so have we back in Sydney. We had a christmas lunch/dinner combo at christmas eve. Colin, Philipe and Thorsten were here. We tried to make the food like a traditional Danish christmas dinner with duck, roast pork, browned potatoes, Thorsten's homemade red cabbage(rødkål), "brun sovs" and Ris Alamande. Yammi!

It was a more "wet" christmas....

Australian Zoo Date: 13-12-03 12:01

We were rather excited to go to Steve Irwin's Australian Zoo. We have heard much about him and the zoo. I must admit we were a bit disappointed about what we saw. While it was a rather large zoo it did not have nearly as meany different animals as the one in Aalborg. But they had a few animals that we got some nice close encounters with. We were allowed to pet the cute Koalas and the....

After Fraser Island we stayed a couple of days around Noosa Heads. Noosa Heads is a "collection" of small holiday townships spread along the rivers and the ocean. We hired a boat to go for a little "stroll" around the shores to look at all the millionaire houses and the beatifull scenery.

Next stop was a caravan park close to Steve Irwin's Austrlian Zoo. On the way there we....

The third day at Fraser was pure relaxation. In the morning we went to Lake McKenzie. Lake McKenzie has the most clear blue water i have ever seen in a lake. It is said to be so clean that no or little fish can live there. Paired with the fine white silica sand this has to be one of the most beautiful places i have ever been...

2. day on Fraser Island Date: 08-12-03 10:38

The second day at Fraser Island was fantastic! We started with a visit to the Champagne Pools. The Champagne Pools are rock formations that make up small pools in the ocean. It is the only place on Fraser where it is safe to swin in the ocean. The water is always refreshed as waves breaks over the pool sides. It is amazing how hundreds of kilometers of sand beach suddenly is broken up by....

1. day on Fraser Island Date: 07-12-03 18:14

We are finally on Fraser Island! The first day we did alot of exciting driving up to the north end of the island. The ferry sat us of on the side of the island where we aren't allowed to drive so we had to start with a drive across the island. That was a very impressive and exciting experience. In a matter of 20-30 Km. we passed through fine sand beach, scrubs land, bush land, normal....
